NDVI can help, but it will not tell you where to start
Why broad vegetation layers are useful for monitoring and still weak for dispatching a walk.

Treat NDVI as a broad signal
NDVI can expose vegetation contrast across a block or between blocks, which is useful for deciding where to look first. It does not identify the cause by itself, and it does not know whether a difference came from crop condition, soil, water, shade, or a recent operation.
Section 2
Add time and field context
Compare the observation with the crop stage, recent irrigation, weather, mowing, harvest, and the previous field note. A single layer is a snapshot; the operational question is whether the change is new, persistent, or already explained.
Section 3
Convert contrast into a row check
Use the map to choose a boundary, row group, or access point for the first walk. Ask the crew to verify a small set of visible conditions rather than asking them to prove a remote diagnosis.
Section 4
Keep the verdict with the field team
The right conclusion may be confirm, explain, or de-escalate. A useful workflow makes that outcome part of the record so the next remote observation can be interpreted against what the crew actually found.
